Showers and thunderstorms are expected for your Monday in the Catawba Valley, and some of these storms may produce heavy rains and damaging wind gusts.
Showers are expected to develop in the afternoon hours across the mountains and foothills, with strong storms moving in after 3:00 p.m. Some storms may be strong, producing damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Heavy rain will also be a threat, with most areas receiving 1-2 inches of rain. Areas along the Blue Ridge Escarpment may see 2-3 inches of rain.
